- Administration of an Adenoviral vector(AdV) carrying PLAT (the gene that encodes for tPA) leads to restoration of outflow facility when expressed in the trabecular meshwork of steroid-induced glaucomatous mice
- Administration of either tPA or an enzymatically-inactive form of tPA partially reverse the outflow facility reduction in myocilin transgenic mutant mice
- tPA also has an effect on outflow facility via non-enzymatic activity
- Outflow facility does not increase further in healthy normal strain mice treated with tPA
